The Foundation needed to refresh its Nigeria Nutrition Country Office Strategy for 2021–2026 to strengthen in-country delivery and align investments with national priorities.

Challenge

Nutrition investments spanned policy, financing, food systems, data, primary health care, family planning and maternal and child nutrition, requiring one coherent, implementable direction.

Approach

Gawani reviewed the Foundation's nutrition investments, assessed primary health care delivery, developed a service-based costing model and facilitated stakeholder consultations.

The refreshed strategy continues to guide nutrition programming in Nigeria today.
